The Championships, Wimbledon

Starting this year on 27th June and running until 10th July, The Championships, Wimbledon, commonly known simply as Wimbledon or The Championships, is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and widely regarded as the most prestigious. It has been held at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London since 1877 and is played on outdoor grass courts, with coverable roofs over the two main courts since 2019.

Wimbledon is one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments and the only major still played on grass; the others being the Australian Open, the French Open, and the US Open.

The closest airports to Wimbledon are London Northolt or London Biggin Hill, both around 25km away. The Open Golf Championship

The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and one of the most prestigious. Founded in 1860, it was originally held annually at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland. Later the venue rotated between a select group of coastal golf courses in the United Kingdom.

The Open is the only men's major golf tournaments outside the USA, held on a rota basis between nine courses in Scotland and England, with its 150th Open at The Old Course at St Andrews, where the tournament begins on 10th July.
