Private Jet Destinations
Sicily, luscious island in the Mediterranean, the perfect destination for private jet travelers. With its crystal-clear water, fascinating history, stunning art, and delicious cuisine, Sicily will not disappoint the most refined visitors. The east part of the island, in particular, is always a good choice for luxury vacations.
Catania Fontanarossa International Airport (CTA), also known as Vincenzo Bellini Airport, is an international airport 2.3 NM southwest of Catania and one of the main airports in Sicily, perfect for your private flight. It’s also the closest to the quaint little town known as “the pearl of the Mediterranean” – breathtaking Taormina.
By Helicopter to the Aeolian islands
The Aeolian Islands, sometimes referred to as the Lipari Islands, are a volcanic archipelago in the Tyrrhenian Sea north of Sicily.
Our helicopter service can take you to Panarea, the smallest and most glamorous island of the Lipari group, from either the heliport in Fiumefreddo (close to the Alcantara Gorges), or Catania Fontanarossa. Then we can organize helicopter transfers between the islands of Panarea, Vulcano, Salina, Stromboli, Filicudi and Alicudi.
Once part of Ancient Greece, Taormina was believed to be home to the legendary Minotaur, and while today you will find no trace of mythological creatures here, you will be able to visit unique historical sites, such as the world-famous Greek Theatre. Take in the dreamy sceneries, shop in designer stores during your evening stroll, and make sure to be pampered all the time in luxury hotels, like Hotel San Domenico.
A ride on a private yacht is perfect to take you to Isola Bella (beautiful island, in Italian). Small, rocky, and connected to the mainland by a thin isthmus, this island was private property until the ‘90s. Purchased by the Region of Sicily, it is now a natural reserve. On your boat ride, you will also want to stop by some of the natural grottos, and swimming, snorkeling, or scuba diving in the turquoise water.
An excursion to Mt. Etna is a unique experience. You can go trekking and get as close as safely possible to some of the craters, or you can just relax and indulge in a wine tasting.
The Alcantara Gorges are a hidden gem in the area. An ancient lava flow went as far as the river Alcantara, then nature did its magic, carving canyons and intricate rock formations. Admire waterfalls and natural pools while you wade through the shallow water.
Cinephiles will appreciate a visit to Savoca, the actual location where The Godfather was filmed. Tour the church of San Nicoló, where Apollonia and Michael Corleone got married, and enjoy a local delicacy at the Bar Vitelli - the very bar shown in the movie, where you can see memorabilia gathered through the years.
With so many things to see and do, Taormina is a popular destination, and there is nothing better than a private jet to beat the crowd!
With only 15 rooms, including 5 suites and 5 sumptuous special suites, San Domenico Palace, a Four Seasons hotel, features views of the Ionic Sea, the Greek Theatre itself, and Mount Etna, still an active volcano.
Sip an aperitivo in your private terrace or by the pool, before heading to dinner in the award-winning restaurant. In need of an extra relaxing day? The hotel’s spa offers massages, and face or body treatments.
No visit to Sicily is complete without a stop in the Aeolian Islands. Their name come from the Aeolus, Greek god of the winds. All these islands are small, perfect for relaxation, or a romantic gateway. But Panarea is known for its nightlife as well, especially in high season, approximately June to September.
A helicopter can take you to Panarea from Catania or other aeolian island; Panarea features several welcoming boutique hotels, among which the Quartara is recommended as the most elegant. The rooms are furnished and decorated in a vintage shabby chic Sicilian style, and most have a private terrace where you can relax and enjoy a handcrafted drink. The rooftop rooms are the ones you need if you’re seeking to indulge in a truly unforgettable experience. Here, you can soak in a Jacuzzi while enjoying the view of the sea, the faraglioni (sea-stacks) and the other islands. You’ll never want to come back!
Note: same-day return might be available for a minimal surcharge
