The Global 6000 is a derivative of the Global Express, which itself was the first clean sheet designed ultra-long range business jet launched in 1993 and certified in 1998 by the FAA and 1999 by JAA. In September 2005 148 aircraft had been delivered, then the Global Express XRS entered service and was succeeded by the 6000 in March 2012.
